Notes on the archive

What makes a proof
belong here?

Elegance is not prettiness alone. It is the moment an argument becomes inevitable: one useful idea, clearly placed, doing exactly enough.

Proofspedia collects memorable arguments across mathematics. Each folio has a theorem, a complete proof in steps, intuition, variants, and two worked examples. The detail pages stand on their own, with individual attribution where it is known.

The archive is edited as a living collection. New folios are added with care; existing proofs can be clarified as they are reviewed.

How a folio is chosen

A good proof earns its space.

  1. 01Clarity

The argument can be followed without hiding a key step.

  2. 02Economy

Every line advances the idea; nothing essential is skipped.

  3. 03Surprise

A simple turn reveals something the statement did not give away.

  4. 04Afterlife

The method offers a way to think beyond one theorem.

Share the theorem, its mathematical origin, a short proof outline, and the reason the argument stays with you.
